Scenery
The scenery here is among the best that Oregon has to offer. The snow capped peak of Mount McLoughlin in the East is a reminder of the mountain grandeur of Southern Oregon. The view of the mountain can be particularly dramatic in the early morning when the sun rises over the mountain and the lake. Everyone has their favorite season: the lush greens and the wildflowers of the spring: the gentle warmth and plentiful activities of the summer, fall has some of our most beautiful weather plus the bounty of hunting season, then the winter snows turn the place into a Winter Wonderland.
A rare and precious feature is that we are far from the light pollution of civilization. To get a perspective of our place in the cosmos, you are welcome to come here on a clear, moonless night and view the Milky Way stretching across the sky in a luminous river of stars.
