Flight of Discovery: Yucatán’s Birdwatching Haven

Birdwatching Bliss

A Symphony of Nature’s Aviators

There is something calming and satisfying about simply watching the birds in nature. The Yucatán Peninsula is home to an astounding 546 species of birds in 74 different families, and several of the more fervent birders have spotted over ninety different bird species in a single day, home basing in the Santa Elena area.

Serenade of Feathers

Coyote Místico’s Avian Oasis

Here at Coyote Místico, you can rarely go for more than twenty seconds without hearing a birdsong, and if you just sit quietly, you can see quite a few of them by just observing from the terrace, pool deck, or forest trails. Serious birders will, of course, want to make the trek to Celestún or Ria Lagartos to observe the flamingos.
